Deriving its name from its position at the mouth of both the East Twin River and the West Twin River, the city of Two Rivers, is a community of 12,000 in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. With a history stretching as far back as the seventeenth century, Two Rivers began as a simple fur trading post.
Being located along Lake Michigan also has many benefits in today’s world. For example, with nearly 3,000 acres, Two Rivers is home to Point Beach State Forest, which possesses beautiful forests and six miles of sandy beaches. It has family campsites, two group cabins and outdoor camping areas. Point Beach’s historic Rawley Point Lighthouse has been in operation since 1853 and is the tallest lighthouse in the entire Great Lakes region.
Another waterfront attraction in Two Rivers is the Rogers Street Fishing Village, home to five historic buildings and the Great Lakes Coast Guard Museum.
