Plano can trace its history all the way back to the early days of The Republic of Texas when the area was sparsely settled and ravaged by raids from local Native American tribes that controlled most of the territory. It is also widely regarded as having one of the best public school systems in all of Texas. The only foreseeable problem that Plano faces is access to additional land. The city is now completely surrounded by other incorporated cities and has no more room for expansion.
